Privatized, For-Profit Health Care:
You’ll Pay More and Get Less

Once again, the advocates of privatized, for-profit health services are trying to sell Canadians on a two-tier health system. Most recently, it was the so-called “European model” which was being promoted across the country by Dr. Robert Ouellet, now past-president of the Canadian Medical Association and owner of several private for-profit diagnostic clinics.

That’s why the Canadian Health Coalition has launched this important campaign. We will be traveling across the country over the next few months to set the record straight on the myth of the European model, the perils of privatization and the truth about the threat of for-profit services. In town halls and information sessions across the country, health experts will be meeting Canadians and sharing their views on why and how to protect and improve our public health care.
